Andersen EV offers six months of free charging through Intelligent Octopus Go for new charger customers, worth around £234 in electricity savings.
Gridserve has opened the UK's first public charging hubs for electric HGVs at Extra Baldock and Moto Exeter. The sites form part of the Electric Freightway programme backed by £62.7 million in government funding. Five more locations follow later this year.
A DAF XF Electric carried 12 tonnes of freight from the East Midlands to Haiger, Germany and back, charging at megawatt-speed in the UK and topping up at public hubs in France and Belgium. LeShuttle Freight says all eHGVs can use the tunnel later this year.
The purpose-built demonstrator used an 87kWh battery - the same size as the Scenic E-Tech - to travel 1,008km at an average of 102km/h, consuming just 7.8kWh per 100km. Renault says the findings will inform future production EVs.
